Zamfara State Police Command has deployed 2000 police operatives to take charge of security situation during the Sallah festive period.
In a statement by the state Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Muhammad said, the police commissioner had directed area commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify patrol in their respective areas.
Shehu further said the command under its Commissioner CP Hussaini Rabiu has made adequate security arrangements aimed at ensuring hitch free sallah celebration.
He said police operatives deployed would be stationed in strategic places to prevent breakdown of law and order.
According Shehu the strategic areas targeted included Id-el praying grounds, recreational centers, major highways as well as government and Private infrastructures.
“This critical assignment will be executed in Collaboration with other Security Agencies and critical stakeholders, all in a bid to ensure that, the celebration is peaceful and hitch-free”.
“Personnel involved in this special assignment are under strict instruction of the Commissioner of Police to be civil but firm in the discharge of their duties”.
“The Command warns parents and guardians to control their children against involvement in any act capable of undermining the peace of the state. Any person or group arrested in violation of law and order, will be made to face the full wrath of the law”.
The Police Commissioner wished the entire Muslims well in their celebration of this year’s Id-el Fitr.
