Special Adviser to Zamfara State Governor on Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Yusuf Zugu was attacked by some suspected thugs believed to be loyal to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a source from Zugu ward, the politician was attacked by the armed thugs while election was ongoing.
He was badly wounded while the thugs set ablaze election materials belonging to two out of the nine poling units that made up the ward.
Though with the intervention of the military and other security forces, the election materials were saved and later on, peace was restored and the election in the seven (7) poling units went on.
Some thugs were arrested and handed over to the military for interrogation while security has been beeped up to ensure hitch free exercise.
