The media wing of the Zonal Constituency Office of Zamfara West Senatorial District has concluded the tour of the six local government areas under the senatorial district.
The tour was initiated to enable the media handlers of the senator take a brief of the activities of the constituency office as well as his performance one year after inauguration.
Dahiru Samaila Mafara led the tour which started at Anka and terminated at Bakura local government area of the state.
Part of the assessment made during the tour includes, inspection of the office facilities provided for by the Senator, level of engagement of the staff of each local government constituency office with the citizens, methodology of receiving complaints and inputs from the citizens and strategic plans initiated to connect the senatorial offices with the citizens.
By extension, the media tour include visitation to some project sites put on the grounds by Senator Yari which were either funded by himself or through constituency funding.
They include Bardoki bridge which is ongoing construction but reached almost 99% completion level, construction of Gyalange township road leading to district head palace, construction of Nasarawar Burkullu road which is up to 7.5km with a single bridge, culverts, and drainages which were 100% completed.
Other projects inspected include ongoing reconstruction and upgrading of Anka Jumuat mosque, as well as construction of Talatar Mafara to Ruwan Bore road which are all ongoing.
The media tour also includes the visitation of completed single block of (4) classrooms and office facilities at Junior Secondary school Daki Takwas as well completed solar motorized borehole at Lambar Bakura local government.
The media tour also avails the organizers with the opportunity to interact with several youths who recently graduated from the army training in Zaria which was an opportunity secured by the Zonal constituency office as empowerment strategy for the people of the constituency.
Majority of the constituents that interactrd with members of the media team expressed optimism that with the way Senator Yari started, plenty of people may become beneficiaries of various schemes that are meant to change the lives of the people of the constituency.
All Sulaiman Maradun one of the constituents from Maradun local government and a card carrying member of the APC told newsmen in the team that the approach of the Senator Yari especially in his social intervention schemes on food security and agricultural empowerment is marvelous; hence he does not limit it to the APC members particularly.
“Those thousands of the people who benefited from his interventions would be the living testimony to the fact that Yari torches lives without mincing who belongs to the APC, PDP or any other opposition party. He considered Zamfara people as his constituents as former Governor, and he acted in that regard as leader of Zamfara politics without recourse to party affiliation.
Another constituents from Bukkuyum Alh Bala Bakanike expressed happiness with the recent scholarship scheme initiated by Sen. Yari noting that in years to come the beneficiaries of this scheme are people to take lead in the transformation of Zamfara calling on the Senator to watch his aides saddled with the responsibility of the selection to avoid politics and political affiliation.
He called on the Senator to create more options to accommodate other potential youths that are demanding for job opportunities in both private and public sectors.
Leader of the team Dahiru Samaila Mafara expressed satisfaction with the steps taken to institutionalize the constituency offices so that people can have the access to the appropriate platform to reach out to the Senator.
He also explained that the projects so far initiated by the Senator to add value to the lives of his constituents is a reflection of his goodwill and determination to changing the lives of his people.
He also explained that, so far, the tour has exposed them to understanding peculiar areas of concern that need to be brought to the attention of the Senator for inclusion in his constituency priority needs.
He thanked the Coordinator of the Zonal Constituency office Mr. Sha’aya S. Paws Mafara for his determination and tireless support toward the smooth running of the affairs of the constituency office.
He also stated that Yari is above a senatorial zone when one look at his spread politically but as staff of the zonal constituency office they ought to have project and assess the functionality of the constituency office.
He added that, soonest the report of the tour would be presented to the Zonal Coordinator for onward transmission to the Senator Yari Abubakar
