It is not out of point to state that Gusau-Tsafe-Funtua road is the most dangerous and scary highway in Nigeria.

It is dangerous and scary because murder and kidnapping along that highway is no longer breaking news as it has become a thing of daily occurrences.
We doubt even if the authorities including the security agencies possesses accurate data of daily killings and kidnappings taking place in that significant national route.
This is happening despite massive deployment of security forces inclusive of the police, military, local community protection guards and other road traffic control agencies.
For those who travels along that route early morning, one will wonder to hear news of attacks along the same way considering the population of police and military checkpoints mounted all over the road.
From Damba the exit part of Gusau to Yankara the border town between Zamfara and Katsina one may continue to count more and more checkpoints that will simply tell that so many things are wrong.
On Sunday, the situation became more scary with the number of newly established security checkpoints mounted, especially between Yarndoton Daji and Mai Ruwa Dam in Katsina.
At Anguwar Chida one of the most dangerous points along that way, one will notice how vigilant the military are with their deadly guns, while along Tsafe exit route one will see a retinue of Community Protection Guards operatives also stationed with their deadly guns.
The concern is not the availability of the these security formations but the embarrassing activities of most of them and descending agony on the innocent but frustrating passengers whose fear is always on the increase.
The development along that way is one out of many fears that the state and federal authorities need to address with a high sense of urgency, hence people and indeed visitors to Zamfara are becoming more scary of the ugly development.
