Nigeria’s Minister of Defense, Mr. Badaru Abubakar has on Thursday paid a one-day working visit to Zamfara as part of the federal government’s concern to end the lingering suffering of the people of the state emanating from incessant armed bandit’s brutality.
The Minister and his entourage on arrival paid a courtesy call to the Governor of Zamfara Dauda Lawal at the state government house Gusau.
He informed the Governor that the working visit is a show of concern and follow up to the Abuja meeting he held with him in Abuja
He assured that federal government will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the deadly armed bandit attack has come to an end in Zamfara state.
After the courtesy call, the Minister proceeded to One Brigade where he received briefings on the successes recorded by the troops handling operations Fansar Yamma.
At the brigade, the Minister gave a matching order for the troops to get Turji the notorious bandit leader in the shortest time.
He acknowledged that for some months now the federal government has noticed some level of development regarding fight against banditry and assured that all will be done to ensure that their morale raise high.
“I had some reassurances from the commanding officer, and I am pleased to assure you that we would achieve the targeted goal of launching this operation.
“The President urged me to thank you and to urge you to do more to end insecurity in these areas of operation and the country.
“He is ready to provide all you need to end insecurity in the Northwest and Nigeria.” The Minister added.
