ZAMSUT GETS PROF. LIMAN (11) OTHERS AS GOVERNING COUNCIL MEMBERS.

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the constitution of the Governing Councils for six state-owned tertiary institutions.

According to the statement by the Spokesperson of the Zamfara SSG Sulaiman Ahmad Tudu said the new members of the governing council are to start work with immediate effect.

It could be recalled that in November 2023, Governor Lawal constituted visitation panels and saddled them with the mandate of thoroughly examining the conditions of all the state-owned tertiary institutions

When the visitation panels submitted their reports in February this year and suggest that there is need for the state government to set up visitation panels for these institutions.

The statement added that the Governor expect the newly constituted council members to extend utmost dedication in ensuring that the right policy is implemented for the progress and development of the institutions.

Zamfara State University Talatar Mafara has Professor Abubakar Aliyu Liman as the Chairman with eleven other members

Prof. Shehu Ismail Tsafe is to head (14) others as the Chairman and members of the governing council members for Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talatar Mafara while Dr. Muhammad Bawa Gummi is to lead (11) others as the Chairman and members of the governing council for the state College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura.

Also in the list Prof. Tukur Adamu who was the former Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talatar Mafara is to lead (11) others as Chairman and members of the governing council of Zamfara state College of Education Maru while Mal. Murtala Garba Tsafe is to head (11) others as Chairman and governing council members of the Zamfara College of Nursing Science Gusau.

Prof. Jafaru Makau Kaura from Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto is to lead (9) others as Chairman and members of the governing Council College of Health Science and Technology Tsafe.

Governor Lawal anticipates the councils to work with utmost dedication and integrity to ensure the implementation of right policies and efficient utilization of resources towards improving the educational standards of these institutions in line with the Rescue Agenda and best practices.
