It has now become an open fact that the division within the Zamfara APC has become a very viable tool that may limit the chances of the party in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
I will not want to elaborate on the defection of the lawmaker out of the PDP for now because more of these scenarios may likely come with the recent trend of things within the Zamfara PDP and that will be the best time to remind the PDP stakeholders of the earliest predictions I have made in my first article about the fear I entertained and why political alarms raised about opening the door for interested aspirants to pick nomination forms may constitute serious threat to the political unity of the party the (PDP).
I am particularly concern about the movement of this lawmaker Hon. Gummi into the APC and the commando style he has adopted by defecting through the Speaker of the Federal House of Reps not the party leaders in the state.
My understanding of his defection strategy is simply he acknowledges the division within the APC Zamfara and he believes if he means progress for his political carrier he may don’t want to linger into the political crises that he has no business with.
What I saw in his strategy is that he has moved to a APC with a grand plan to saving his ticket ahead of the 2027 elections because the national body must acknowledge the effect of the political suicide he has committed by exiting his party the PDP unceremoniously and ensure that he has been saved from future political embarrassment.
Now the lesson APC Zamfara shall learn is that, it either comes together to unify its members and face the politics head-on, or it shall allow sentiments to continue to ruin in the party with the long run consequential effects of losing election again.
Already APC is applying trick in its tactics of refusing to join the scheduled council polls and for me, the legal dynamics it has applied cannot rule out the understanding of the public that the party APC is heading toward another form of crash with splinted political houses all over.
With Sen. Yariman Bakura, Yari, Matawalle, Marafa, and Jaji camps each having a grand plan against one another I believed, no serious person with genuine “politicao ambition” will ever waste his time expecting the miracle to happen within the APC Zamfara.
On the idea some APC supporters have been promoting that “Tinubu is not Buhari” and that he will not allow another person to cause problem for the APC in 2027 I believed that is myopic thinking because President Tinubu is not the one to come and force constituents in their respective wards and poling units to vote for PDP that is even he may have control over the political arrow-heads of these splinter political houses.
What I believed is genuinely the right steps for the APC leaders in Zamfara to get reconcile is to ensure that justice is done to all stakeholders who have played one role or the other in ensuring the success of the party especially at the national level.
I said this, and I will say it again, any move for reconciliation within Zamfara APC that will leave people like Sen. Marafa, Sani Shinkafi, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala and rest abandoned at home without any appointment allocated to them as well as their followers then that move is no more than a “mere dream”.
In politics and political association justice, equity and fairness are the bedrock that will make the Union last forever.
I know to some supporters on the other camps they may see my position as “epileptic” because their principals are well compensated at the federal level but believe me they are just breeding fire under the rock.
Time has come for the major stakeholders in the Zamfara APC project to come back to their senses and accept genuine reconciliation by meeting the President and make plead that all these stakeholders mentioned earlier be adequately compensated at the federal level for the party to move head-on in Zamfara.
As for Hon. Sulaiman Gummi I salute his sense of reasoning and courage he has for his political liberation and I will advise him never to take site in this Zamfara APC crisis.
He should remain focus and continue to do well for his constituents God almighty will surely give him the way out.
