In what appeared to be a surprising stand, Zamfara State House of Assembly has held an emergency session this morning and cleared nine out of the fourteen local government Council chairmen earlier recommended for dissolution.
The cleared council Chairmen were an hour after the legislative session sworn-in by the executive Governor as new SOLE Administrators.
One of our sources at the state house of assembly who confided with Thunder Blowers Online News Medium said “this morning we met at an emergency session and resolved that, the nine council chairmen of Anka, Bungudu, Bukkuyum, Maru, Tsafe, Kaura Namoda, Birnin Magaji and Zurmi be cleared for reconsideration as sole administrators”.
Confirming the development the Public Relations officer of the State House of Assembly Mustapha Jafaru Kaura explained that, the earlier resolution issued was generic to all the fourteen Council chairmen but later nine out the fourteen were cleared for lack of evidence of their involvement in the allegations.
He noted that, earlier than now, the state assembly suspended the council chairmen of Maradun and Shinkafi local government councils for alleged mismanagement of relief funds to IDPs and being too reluctant to act on security matters.
Jafaru therefore said, the house resolved to clear the nine dissolved Council chairmen for reappointment as sole administrators.
