Suspected armed bandits numbering over (30) have invaded Yar-Nasarawa village under Kizara district in Tsafe local government area and killed twelve (12) persons.
Apart from stealing an estimate of (90) bags of assorted food items from the village, according to a source, the bandits had attempted to prevent the funeral prayers of those killed until when three trucks a load of armed military soldiers were deployed to the community.
A source who confided on this medium said, the incident occurred when a fulani herder went missing after he was spotted rearing cows around the affected community of Yar-Nasarawa.
The source further said, the bandits initially came to search for the missing boy but could not trace his whereabouts till after some days when his dead body was found along the bush.
He said, that may trigger the anger of the suspected Fulani bandits to mobilize and invade the community.
Another source said, they came shooting sporadically a circumstance which scared the residents to flee for their safety.
He said he attended the funeral prayers of twelve persons who were killed in the attack.
The Press Secretary of Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji who confirmed the attack said state government has sent a powerful delegation led by State Deputy Governor Mahadi Aliyu Gusau to commiserate with the people of the area.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Muhammad on the other hand said normalcy has been restored in all the affected areas attacked by the bandits including Kizara community.
