A former Commissioner for Education Alh Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga (Wamban Maru) has formally written to the former Governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar announcing his exit from the All Progressive Congress.
In a letter dated 12th May 2022 addressed to the former Governor Lugga said his decision to abandoned the APC is borne out of the concern he has for the hardship Zamfara people are subjected to.
He also said he is living APC because of the calculated attempt by the APC National to cause more harm than good to the personality of Yari as their political leader as well as disrespect for his political followers.
While recalling the old aged political relationship between himself and former Governor Lugga reminded Yari how the two of them agreed to seal their political interest in 2011 and took over power from the then government of Mahmuda Shinkafi.
“You recall how you pursue me to step down my political ambition as CPC gubernatorial candidate to support you, and I also salute your political doggedness for trying to sustain the relationship throughout our stay together in the APC”.
I must thank you so much sincerely for given me the opportunity to serve my state in the capacity of Commissioner for eight years and I will continue to hold you with that political regard now and beyond”
“It is on record that we have also sacrificed our energy, time, and resources to work together with you and support you to succeed. You have no doubt done well in terms of trying to transform the lives of Zamfara people, and history of Zamfara State will always remember you for what you have done”.
Lugga said he and his supporters are ready to join hand with Yari politically, but noted that when the political circumstances changed.
He therefore called on those in the position of authority to fear Allah by trying to do well,, especially in protecting the lives and properties of the people.
