The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian University to heading toward another strike action over refusal of the Federal Government to appoint Governing Council for the Federal Universities.
The ASUU National President Dr. Emmanuel Osodoke who stated this in a press conference held at the ASUU National Headquarters in Abuja insisted that since the removal of the University Governing Council in May last year effort has not been made by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint new ones living the University administration without proper oversight.
The union faulted the administration of Tinubu for the 35% and 25% salary increment for professors and other academic below the professorial rank.
He further noted that Tinubu administration has the ample opportunity to address the lingering industrial crisis between ASUU and Federal government only if there is serious commitment.
The union threatened to embark on another strike action as the demands of the union is not fulfilled.
