The acting State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff to Governor Dauda Lawal.
His appointment and subsequent swearing in came barely a few hours after Dauda Lawal was sworn in as the Governor of Zamfara State by the State Chief Judge Mrs. Kulu Isah Aliyu in Gusau on Monday.
Until his appointment, Lugga was the Acting State Chairman of the ruling PDP, and he took over the chairmanship after the sudden death of the substantive Chairman Dr. Kaura during a function in Gusau early this year.
He was a gubernatorial candidate of Zamfara under the platform of the CPC but stepped down his ambition to support the gubernatorial ambition of then Governor of Zamfara Abdulaziz yari Abubakar.
After the emergence of Yari as the Governor, he made him the commissioner for the environment and later that of education.
He was also appointed as the Chairman of the governing council of the Federal College of Education, Okene Kogi state by the former President and Commander-in-Chief Muhammadu Buhari.
