Members of Zamfara State House of Assembly have unanimously resolved to launched investigations in to the alleged diversion of Primary Health Care Fund.

The resolution was reached after the house leader Faruk Dosara raised the issue as a matter of urgent public importance on the floor of the state house of assembly on Wednesday.

Dosara alleged in his submission that, the health care intervention that was allegedly diverted was released to Zamfara State government by the National Basic Health Care Provision Fund as part of the federal government commitments to augmenting state government effort in improving the quality of primary health care system.

He explained that each primary health care in the state is expected to receive a sum of N610,000 for the supply of basic drugs and some other medical consumables alleging that, instead only N110,000 was released to each of these health facilities across the state.

He sought for the support of the members of the state house of assembly to support his prayer for the commencement of the investigations in respect of the issue with a view to ascertaining the factual circumstances behind the allegations.

The house later mandated the house committee on health and human medicine to investigate the matter and report the key findings within one month.
