Suspected bandits in their large number has invaded Sabon Garin Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State and killed one person.
According to the report, the bandits came to the town and started shooting sporadically, and the situation resulted in the killing of one person and the abduction of women and children.
“As at this morning, the number of women and children that were abducted are yet to be ascertained as figures are being compiled.
It could be recalled that the same group of bandits invaded the Sabon Garin Kaura last week and abducted some women from the family of a commercial transporter and took them to an unknown destination.
This attack came barely a few weeks after another murderous attack on the people of Sakajiki community where some scores of people were killed with many others displaced.
In response to the Wednesday attack, people of Sabon Garin Kaura took to the street to demonstrate their anger over constant attacks by the suspected armed bandits.
They blocked the road leading to Gusau, and started burning tires until when the Emir of Kaura Namoda came to address them.
The Monarch pleaded with them to allow innocent commuters to continue with their daily activities and assured them that the emirate will constantly engage the government until peace is restored in the state.
The Spokesperson amfara State Police Command is yet to pass his comment over the development.
