There is the popular adage which says, “it is only someone who knows the value of something that he can take the bold steps of prioritizing it”.
To every right — thinking person, education is the light through which one can beam to search for his brighter future.
The gesture by one of the Zamfara APC gubernatorial aspirants Sanusi Bala Sarkin Dawaki Maituta of sponsoring (3,012) students to pursue and advance their educational carriers is one of the most laudable steps supposed to be taken by a politician of his status to salvage the dignity of his people.
It is common knowledge that Zamfara needs intervention in every step of its educational development. It is on record that the state is taking the back seat in every indicator of educational development.
Zamfara state is taking the least in terms of performance in WAEC/NECO, taking the least in terms of its citizens getting access to University education, taking the least in terms of enrollment and detention of pupils in school as well state with the highest number of out of school children.
This alone is an indicator that, for any politician to make an impact on the lives of Zamfara people, he has to focus his attention on supporting education and uplifting people out of ignorance.
Maituta’s drive toward educational empowerment of Zamfara people is therefore the best initiative any right thinking persons shall commend.
The initiative which came under his philanthropic organization “Maituta Care” is to cater for those beneficiaries across both primary and secondary schools levels.
More surprising thing is that the “Maituta Care” is yet to take off or officially been launched, but because of the generosity of Sanusi Bala he saw the need to take the most urgent steps of kick-starting an intervention that is considered akin to sustainable transformation of the good citizens of Zamfara which is education.
A lot more interventions on humanitarian, health and business empowerment are on the way when the initiative of Maituta Care” is eventually inaugurated.
Beyond this educational initiative one may not easily forget his Ramadan gesture which covered over (30,000) thirty thousand needy across the (14) local government areas of the state where a combination of delicious food, assorted with meat, fruits and other drinks were provided on the daily basis from the beginning to the end of Ramadan.
His Id-El fitr support also covered more than (50,000) people including the vulnerable, needy and lessprivleged people who were given assorted food items, clothing materials and money
The Id-El Kabir gesture is equally marvelous as he provided for the people hundreds of number of rams, cows to slaughter in commemoration of the Id-El Kabir festivity.
Before now, dozens of other Zamfara indigents were sponsored to the holy land for them to pray for the return of sustainable peace and progress in Zamfara State.
This giant stride is a clear testimony of the simple facts that Maituta’s strong heart for the uplifting of the standard of Zamfara people and beyond is both visible and recognizable and in no distance time what he has seeds will eventually germinate and become positive to the lives of the entire Zamfara people.
Zamfara people are indeed grateful to you Sarkin Dawaki Maituta.
