Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Zamfara , Malam Haliru Andi has alleged that no political party in the history of Zamfara has done more damage to the state than the APC.
Andi , in a statement on Thursday stated that “APC presided over the darkest years of banditry in Zamfara, with mass killings, abductions, and economic collapse becoming the order of the day”.
The party and its leaders openly dined and negotiated with bandits, granting them legitimacy while the people of Zamfara buried their loved ones.
“It is laughable that APC — the very architects of Zamfara’s insecurity — now pretend to be concerned about the plight of our people. The facts are stubborn”.
“Under APC’s Bello Matawalle, villages were sacked daily while government officials turned a blind eye”.
Mr Andi stated that, “billions of naira meant for security were looted while ordinary citizens were left at the mercy of criminals”.
“APC leaders openly romanced with bandit leaders, attending meetings with them instead of protecting innocent citizens” Andi alleged.
“Governor Dauda Lawal inherited this monumental mess from the failed APC government. Since assuming office, he has worked tirelessly to rebuild confidence, equip security agencies, establish the Community Protection Guards, and cut off the political lifelines APC used to sustain banditry”.
“The Governor’s frank remarks about knowing the locations of bandits was an honest demonstration of his proactive leadership and his readiness to provide intelligence for decisive action. The APC twisting this into propaganda only exposes their fear of a governor who is genuinely committed to ending the crisis they used as a political weapon”.
“Zamfara people are not fools. They vividly remember APC’s legacy of bloodshed, corruption, and betrayal. They know who abandoned them to bandits, and they know who is now working to restore peace”.
“We therefore put APC on notice: no amount of lies, propaganda, or crocodile tears can erase their failure or distract Governor Dauda Lawal from the rescue mission he is executing with courage and sincerity”.
“The PDP calls on the good people of Zamfara to ignore APC’s empty noise. The same APC that destroyed the state has no moral standing to lecture anyone on security. Governor Dauda Lawal remains focused on dismantling the bandits’ networks and delivering on his promise of peace, progress, and prosperity”.
