Former Governor of Sokoto State Attahiru Dalhatu Bafafrawa has explained that unless the elders that dominated the Arewa Consultative Forum have shifted ground and allow the younger ones to take over and chart the way Forward for the North, the region will continue to wallow in crises.
The former Governor who stated this in an interview with Radio France International on Thursday insisted that the rest of the elders that remains in the forum lacks the wisdom to save the region.
He said even though the current Chairman of the forum Alh Bashir Dalhatu has apologized for failing the region, the forum with the current sets of elders cannot offer any solution to the crisis confronting the North.
He insisted that if his memo written (22) years about the ACF has been followed strictly, the forum would have to make the desired impact in the saving of the region.
He added that Arewa Consultative Forum have nothing to offer in terms of addressing the crisis rocking the Northern region adding that their days as elders of the region is gone.
While insisting that he is not interested in any position in Nigeria, Bafafrawa explained that the rest of the burden that awaits elders like him is to provide a guide for the upcoming youth who have the desired energy to chart a way forward for the region.
