As part of the effort to cushion the effect of the recent armed banditry attacks in some part of the communities in Zamfara State, government has taken further step of providing portable drinking water to the affected communities.
State Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs Abubakar Muhammad Dauran dropped the hint in an exclusive interview with Thunder Blowers Online News Medium in Gusau Wednesday.
He said, the initatiative of drilling boreholes for some of these victim communities is to further strengthen their confidence of re-settling back home hence lack of affordable drinking water has been one of the major challenge confronting the people of the communities.
He noted that, Kwantaragi, Tungar Roro, Zaman Gira were provided with a borehole each while Jangebe community was provided with three units of boreholes at some different locations.
The Commissioner explained that, since Sunday when he and State Commissioner of Police re-settled the fled victims of the attack, normalcy has been restored adding that, security operatives deployed in the area are patrolling the forest.
He urged the state government to hasten the extension and completion of the Danmarke-Kanoma-Gwaram-Jangebe road so that, aceess to movement by the security agencies and indeed the citizens can be enhanced.
He call on the people to continue to support the initiative of the government as it works in synergy with all stakeholders in restoring peace in the state.
