People of Magami and Mayaba in Gusau local government area of Zamfara State are still mourning the brutal murder of members of their communities at their farmlands.
An eyewitness said told BBC Hausa Service that they have conducted the funeral prayers of 17 persons while nine others were badly injured by the bandits.
Report says, the armed bandits launched their heinous invasion when most of the farmers were in their respective farmlands trying to do clearance in preparation for this year’s farming activities.
One of the survivors interviewed who does not want to be named said he participated in the burial of those killed in the incident.
He also said they carted away their valuable properties and livestock, noting that not even a sign of security personnel was sighted throughout the period of the attack.
According to the BBC SP Shehu Muhammad the police spokesperson could not be reached for comment after several efforts.
