ARMED BANDITS KILLED (2) & KIDNAPED OVER (40) IN ZAMFARA

Recent armed bandit attack at Janbako community of Maradun local government area of Zamfara state resulted in the killing of two persons and abduction of over (40) people in the area.

According to a source, the bandits entered the community around 12:00am on Saturday and started shooting sporadically, a circumstance that scared many of the residents.

They abducted both women and children whose number raised to over (40).

They killed one Malam Isah and another teenage boy in the course of the encounter.

The source added that, the bandits access the town through an alternative routes where operatives if the community protection guards were not mounted.

Up to the time of filing this report, the bandits do not call to place demand for the payment of ransom of the abducted victims.

He stated that, not more than a week about ten of the abducted people from same Janbako were released after payment of N10M as ransom.

This attack was about number six at Janbako in 2024 and despite efforts made to secure the town residents were still scared on why the banditry persists.

State authorities could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
