Nowadays people find it very difficult to differentiate humanitarian gestures from politics. Whatever politicians provided, people tried as much as they can do tight it to political motive and that is the inclination that usually befalls the positive side of the good intention of Nigerian politicians.
The Ramadan gesture distributed by the former Governor of Zamfara Sen. Abdulaziz Yari is no doubt an extension of life time support for the needy and less privilege people.
The gesture will no doubt be seen as mere political tradition by the politician since it was something he decided to sustain annually even after he left office, but the expansion strategy of the gesture is becoming an eye-opener that the politician targets humanity beyond politics.
This year’s Ramadan he distributed over two hundred trucks of assorted food items to poor individuals across the state apart from those he has reached out to individually and those he supported with cash in millions of denominations.
A few days back, he has also supported thousands of orphans with food items and wrappers for them to get prepared for the Sallah celebration.
It was speculated that his committee had already begun to prepare for the procurement of cows to be distributed for Sallah celebration and this one is also going to be made across the state just the way he used to do every year.
It will be interested if all other wealthy individuals in Zamfara can be like Yari and pull out the little from what they have to support humanity, lives of thousands of poor individuals in Zamfara would surely change for the better.
It is better if we begin to see gesture like that of Abdulaziz Yari beyond politics and political inclination because transforming humanity is beyond seeing things with the needle eye of a political boundary.
Abdulaziz Yari is torching live and serving humanity, and he shall be commended for adding value to the lives of less valuable people, especially during the time of needs.
May God continue to increase him in wealth and strength.
