A political ally of Zamfara Governor Usman Dankalili has been finger pointed by the opposition All Progressive Congress APC in Zamfara of harboring one thousand armed thuggs in his home town Bakura as part of the plan of using them for an evil motive during Bakura bye election.
State Chairman of the Party Lawal M. Liman who declared this in Gusau during a stakeholders meeting and media briefing said, the hired thuggs were instructed to destroy APC bill boards and attack APC members including their houses leading to vandalization and stealing of valuable properties of their supporters in Bakura.
Kaura further alleged that another ally of the Governor of Zamfara was allegedly saddled with the responsibility of hiring 20 number of political thuggs all in preparation for evil plans in Zamfara and were first brought to Gusau before they were relocated to Funtua.
The Chairman further alleged that, they have lodged a complaint against some top government officials of Zamfara who are planning to criminally influence the security agencies and INEC to perpetrate electoral fraud during the bye election.
Liman also accused the PDP government of sponsoring some thuggs to burnt part of their Zonal Office in Talatar Mafara shortly after the completion of the Flagg of their campaign.
He noted that, all the concerns have been raised with the security agencies especially the police but it seems the state police command is reluctant in handling the situation alleging that the CP is suspectedly becoming hostile to the opposition party in the state.
The Chairman said in order to alert critical stakeholders, two separate letters were written to Abdul Salam Abubakar Led National Peace Committee and YIAGA Africa seeking for their intervention in a bid to securing comfortable political atmosphere for the election contest.
He thanked the media for their tireless support and cooperation and urged them to watch things as they unfold and alert the public on any development related to the conduct of the ruling PDP in the scheduled bye election.
