Suspected armed bandits on Friday invaded Adabka village in the Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara state and killed 13 people.
According to Hon. Hamisu A. Faru, the lawmaker representing Bukkuyum South in the state House of Assembly, the statistics show that among those killed were three members of the Community Protection Guards, two mobile police officers, and eight civilians.
He said that after the tragedy, attempts were made to secure the release of the victims for burial, but the bandits refused to allow the members of the community access to the corpses.
He lamented that even before the Friday attack, residents of the Adabka ward had already fled the area and relocated to the Zuru area for their safety.
He appealed for the deployment of more security personnel to secure the release of the dead for proper burial.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the state governor to doing his best to support the security of his people, noting that it was the same CPG operatives employed by the governor who were killed in the attack.
