Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello as the new Sarkin Katsina of GUSAU, becoming the 16th emir on the throne.
His appointment follows the demise of his father, who was the 15th emir, appointed by the former Governor of Zamfara, Abdul Aziz Yari, in 2015.
The new Sarkin Katsina is the biological son of the late emir and has succeeded his father.
His appointment also follows the recommendations of the selection committee, which adhered to traditional and royal ethics in selecting a new emir.
Until his appointment, Abdulkadir held the title of Bunun Gusau and was a full descendant of the Sambo Dan Ashafa family.
Governor Dauda Lawal wishes the new emir well and urges him to continue to uphold the good virtues of traditional institutions, as his father and other emirs have done before him.
