Governor Bello Matawalle and his counterparts from Kaduna Nasir Elrufai, Yahaya Bello from Kogi paid a visit to Nigeria’s President-elect Mr. Bola Ahmad Tinubu to brief him on the developments regarding the Supreme Court judgment.
The visit, according to Governor Bello Matawalle was to brief the President on the judgment of the Supreme Court regarding the continuous use of old Naira note until December 31st 2023.
He said as Governors, who have gone to court to contest the implementation of the new CBN policy, especially as it relates to the suffering encountered by the people they have acknowledged the moral contribution of Sen. Bola Tinubu who encouraged them to stand by the Nigerians.
He lauded the President-elect for his moral support throughout the period of the litigation, noting that the protest against the policy has yielded the much-needed result.
He assured that as Governors, they would continue to work harder and ensure the victory of the incoming government.
