An Islamic scholar Malam Saidu Aliyu Maikwano has reminded the State Commissioner for Religious Affairs Malam Tukur Sani Jangebe and indeed Zamfara people that those challenging Governor Bello Matawalle are indirectly challenging the supreme power of God almighty.

Maikwano who was speaking while reacting to the comment credited to Zamfara Commissioner for Religious Affairs on Ramadan welfare, said as believers of true faith (Ahlu-Sunnah) in Arabic dialect, people must guard themselves against utterances that are considered inciting against the government.

It is forbidden for the people to criticize leaders in the open, and also we don’t allow uprising against the state. There are many verses and prophetic traditions that says leaders should be guided to the right path not through inciting commentaries but through confidential and secret engagements.

“Many times at 1:00am or so I picked my phone and call the Governor to advise him on many emerging issues, and he used to pick and listen to me with all manners of respect and that is the practice of a good believer toward his leader”.

Maikwano recall that it has been the practice at the Sahaba Islamic Center since during the first civilian administration for the center to always stand firm and defend the government”.

“Toward the tail end of the government of Sen. Yarima people challenged him for being softer with the Shariah implementation we stood by him, during Mamuda Shinkafi, we defended him, when the Group of (8) mobilized against Abdulazeez Yari and his government we stood by him and the same thing with Matawalle”.

“After our sermon against the group of (8) many people criticized us, anywhere I moved in this town people rendered insult on my personality, but it does not bother me because I have the conviction that it is our duty to defend and protect the government”.

“It is part of our ideologies we don’t allow people protesting against the government. We believed power belongs to God almighty, and he gives it to whom he wishes and ours is to obey those delegated with the power”.

“What happened in Zamfara in 2019 is a good lesson for every citizen of Zamfara to believe that power belongs to God, and he gives it to who ever he wishes”.

“Even those linking Matawalle or Buhari with this issue of insecurity we challenged them that they are wrong. What is happening in Nigeria according to our ideology is something from God almighty and not any individual”.

“We are not doing this for money neither for appointment but for the sake of our ideology which is driven by the teaching of Islam, money or appointment cannot buy our consciences” Maikwano added.
