The National Directorate of Employment NDE is to train 25, 200 participants nationwide under its basic national open apprenticeship scheme (B-NOAS).
The Director General of the Directorate Dr Nasir Muhammad Ladan Argungu made the declaration during a One day Orientation and Counselling Training for participants of basic national open apprenticeship scheme (N-NOAS) held in Gusau on Friday.
He said 700 participants are to be trained across 14 local government areas of the state noting that, each of the council area will have 50 participants that are to be trained under the scheme.
He noted further that, the participants are to be trained on GSM repair, computer appreciation, confectioneries, knitting, tie and dye, hair dressing, barbing and tailoring.
The scheme which is a Covid-19 relief package is under the vocational skills development programme (VSD) of the four core programmes department of the National Directorate of Employment.
He said the scheme is designed to create opportunities for the youth in order to be gainfully employed by training them in various vocational skills.
