A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Zamfara, Dr) Aslam Aliyu has accused the PDP gubernatorial candidate of Zamfara Mr. Dauda Lawal of sabotaging the chances of the People’s Democratic Party and its Presidential candidate in the 2023 Presidential polls.
Mrs. Aslam who stated this during a Press Conference in Gusau on Sunday, accused Dauda Lawal of refusing to release funds provided by Atiku for winning the election.
She explained Turakin Adamawa has provided all that are required to winning election in Zamfara but she accused Dauda Lawal of unilaterally sitting on the money and allow party stakeholders to go to the poling units without anything at hand
She said after the meeting on the eve of the day of the Presidential election at the private residence of Gen. Aliyu Gusau (rtd) huge amount of money was released to Dauda Lawal for onward distribution to party agents and other stakeholders but noted that Dauda Lawal refused to release a dime to anybody instead he locked his house and asked security agents to chase away party supporters awaiting money to mobilize to their respective poling units.
She also stated that on the day of the election, Dauda Lawal cast his vote and retired back home to lock his house and be spreading fake election results on the social media.
She wondered how he can win election as gubernatorial candidate when he cannot release money meant for election to the right stakeholders for distribution with the aim of winning election.
She accused of working silently for the APC especially that it was the party he crosses to come to the PDP within (78hrs) noting that his action has demonstrated that he is still working against the PDP despite securing its gubernatorial ticket.
