” You are also aware that,  several contractors who have abandoned their projects after receiving billions of naira have mobilised back to sites in the state as a result of this investigation ” Lawal said
According to the Zonal coordinator, the commission is currently investigating  60 cases from Zamfara state in relations to the past administration that include cases of individuals, public and private corporate organizations as well as government ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“The Total sum involved is over N200 billion. Several Banks accounts connected to fraudulent activities in regards to this investigation have been frozen by the commission “He added
” Sir, it may interest you to know that, what we are here to handover to Zamfara state government is the result of a painstaking and diligent investigation that led to the recovery of these fifty three (53) Keke Napep Tricycles from a contractor” Mr Lawal told Zamfara SSG.
The contract was initially awarded to  Kinco and Wadatau films at the total cost of N1.2 Billion for the supply of 1000 Tricycles Keke Napep which investigation revealed that only 947 units were supplied BWF the expiration of immediate past administration of Zamfara state.
The Zonal Head further calls on all contractors who have collected payments and yet to commence, compete and /or handover projects to mobilise back to site in their own interest.
In his response, the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government who received the 53 recovered Tricycles on behalf of Zamfara state government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru who came alongside Special Adviser on Zamfara State Poverty Eradication Agency, Alhaji Rufai Abubakar Ciroma thanked the commission for the investigation that led so many contractors to either voluntarily or otherwise return to site.
“The recovery of these Tricycles is just a symbolic, but the effort is that billions have been recovered because many contractors have returned to sites” He added
