Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has re-affirmed the position of his administration that he will never reconcile with the bandits.
The Governor who stated this in an interview with Channels TV politics today, insisted that the purported memo circulating on the social media alleging he has allocated funds for payment to be made to bandit leaders and media promoters is a fake one and never emanated from his government.
While identifying discrepancies in the memo the Governor said he has a pattern in which he addresses his finance commissioner which is entirely different from what was doctored on the fake memo.
He also said while the author of that fake memo cited reference with the North West Security summit which took place three months back precisely around June 2024 the approval was issued on 2nd September 2024 on his birthday.
He also said he could not remember signing any memo on the day he celebrated his birthday hence he was attending a special state executive council meeting on that day.
He insisted that as a government they have gotten to the root of the problem and also uses technology to traces where the memo originated.
He explained that his government has already written to the IGP and other security agencies to fish out the culprits and affirmed that the legal team of the state government are instructed to file legal action against the perpetrator of the fake memo
