Information reaching this medium has it that, five abductees from Moriki had tactically escapes from bandit camp manned by Bello Turji located at Fakai community in Shinkafi.

A source informed this medium that among the abductees was the one demonstrated by the bandit leader Bello Turji in a recent video that went viral on the social media.

“Two of the abductees escapes and arrive home in the morning and the other three came around noon making the number five” a source explained.

The source added that “the bandit leader is still in captivity of several number women, mostly married who were abducted on several occasions in Moriki”.

In a related development, one of the residents of the Moriki community informed this medium that a military reinforcement of about (30) soldiers have been sent to support their colleagues who are stationed permanently at Moriki.

He also said there were about (10) operatives of the Community Protection Guards that were armed to support the military in securing the people of Moriki community.

The source who does not want to be named insisted that the state government should look into the need to send more CPG operatives to strengthen the operation against the bandit leader Bello Turji.

“The number of the CPG operatives is inadequate, and that more need to be deployed considering how murderous the bandit leader Bello Turji can be”.

It could be recalled that, the deadline given to the people of Moriki by Bello Turji to pay the N30M negotiated protection levy has elapsed on Wednesday.

The protection levy enforced by Bello Turji is in connection with his livestock that were allegedly murdered by the military operatives in the operation against his group as he alleged in his video that went viral on social media.

The demand for the payment of the protection levy by the bandit leader has caused panic among the residents who believed he may be heartless to execute his threat which may be murderous to many innocents of the area.
