Over five hundred supporters of Hurriyah Dauda Lawal a pro-PDP support group had defected out from their former party the PDP and joined forces with Governor Bello Matawalle in the APC.
This was perfected during a get-to-gether with one of the political allies of Governor Bello Matawalle Abubakar Jafar Maradun at Maryam Hall Gusau on Tuesday.
Chairman of the group Mal. Albani who delivered an address on behalf of the members, said Hurriyah Dauda Lawal Support group is one of the active political associations which has been proudly mobilizing people for the success of Dauda Lawal gubernatorial candidature.
He noted that despite following Dauda Lawal to campaign rallies across all (14) local governments, the support group has been offering helping hands to needy and lessprivilege persons, all with the aims of canvassing for support to PDP and its gubernatorial candidate.
He noted that with the manners in which they have suffered in the hand of the PDP, they are left with no option than to abandon the PDP and join forces with Matawalle so that their political potentials can not be wasted freely by Dauda and PDP.
“Not even the wife of the Governorship candidate consider us important after intimating us to work for her. She does not care to appreciate our efforts and contributions, and neither does she bother to support our initiative as a foundation bearing her name”.
“we have invested our earnings and also sacrificed our lives and time and all the efforts went to nothing. We decided to join the APC through Abubakar Jafar Maradun to pay the PDP back for what it has done to us”.
They urged Abubakar Jafar Maradun who facilitated their movement to the APC to allow them the deserving opportunity to change the pattern of things, especially as the Governorship election holds on Saturday.
Responding Mr. Abubakar Jafar Maradun expressed happiness with the show of love demonstrated by the defectors and for their decision to join Governor Bello Matawalle and APC.
He assured them of his commitment to briefing his principal the Governor and also intimate him to create various options for them as they move toward working successfully for the success of the APC.
