Former Governor of Sokoto State Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa had donated the sum of N1b to the poor and vulnerable people in Sokoto.
According to him the donation is part of his concern to ensure that he contributed to reducing the sufferings of his people.
Bafarawa insisted that his intervention has nothing to do with politics or political affiliation; hence everyone is aware of the suffering faced by the people.
He stated that a committee of eight persons has been constituted, and we’re given the mandate to work out ways to use the money for the appropriate intervention.
The insisted that his donation of the money is part of his effort to pay back to his people considering the fact that they have voted for him as Governor for eight years, and they have continued to remain with him at all cost.
