The former Vice Chairman for Gusau local government Alh Garba Abdullahi Rijiya was released from captivity after his relations paid the sum of one million naira as ransom to his abductors.
A family member who spoke exclusively to thunder blowers on Monday said, he personally took the money and delivered it to the kidnappers at their base along Kunchin Kalgo area of Tsafe local government.
The former Vice Chairman was reportedly kidnapped along Rijiya and Madadawa forest while travelling back to Gusau from his Rijiya village on Sunday last week.
The source said Mr. Garba Rijiya spent six days in captivity before his relations negotiated for his conditional release from the abductors.
He told this medium that after delivering the ransom the bandits instructed him to await the release of the abductee at Kunchin Kalgo where he was later released.
The source confirmed that, the abductees that received the ransom were fully kitted with the military uniforms and were carrying deadly guns as at the time he met with them
