Former Deputy Governor of Katsina Alh Surajo Umar Damari has defected from the PDP to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Damari served as Katsina Deputy Governor during the first tenure of Governor Barr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema 2007-2011.
The defection of the former Deputy Governor was perfected on Sunday 1st of September 2024 after he formally received his APC membership.
Governor Mal. Dikko Umar Rada handed down the membership card to the former Deputy Governor at a public hearing organized in Funtua in the presence of the Deputy State Chairman of the party, Hon. Bala Abu Musawa.
Governor Radda commended the politician for the rightful decision he has taken.
