The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Alh Najeem Usman Yasin has wed into the ongoing leadership crisis of the NURTW by warning Alh Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa to stop parading himself as the Chairman of the union.
Yasin who stated this at an emergency meeting of the union held at the headquarters of the union, insisted that the only leadership of the union to recognize is that of Alh Aliyu Isah Ore.
He reminded Baruwa that the judgment of the National Industrial Court was since appealed by the Ore faction and until when the judgment of the court of appeal is handed down Baruwa’s claim of leadership of the union is not legal.
He insisted that the only headquarters of the union recognize by law is the one at Sapele Street Garki Abuja and warned members to strictly work with the Mr. Ore interim leadership of the union pending the outcome of the appeal pending at the Court of Appeal Abuja .
The Registrar of the Trade Union, Mr. Falonipe Amos in his contributions insisted that “We are all members of the same family and the two parties should keep hope alive and work for peace. We are father to all the union, we are for the interest of the union and hope that at the end of the day, the union will come out stronger”.
