Former Governor of Zamfara State Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi has been appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Jos.
Other people from Zamfara that were appointed as members of the Governing Council of various Federal Universities include the Registrar of the Sokoto University of Education, Hajiya Amina Yusuf Garba who is appointed member of the Governing Council of University of Ilorin.
Former Commissioner of Education in Zamfara Alh Sanda Muhammad Danjari Kwatarkwashi was appointed as member of Federal University of Transport Daura and Tukur Umar Danfulani who was appointed as member of the Governing Council of Federal University of Gashua, Yobe State.
