Zamfara State Government has purchased a three-story building hotel at Wuse 11 Abuja as part of Governor Matawalle’s drive to enhance investment opportunities for the state.
The Managing Director of Zamfara State Investment and Properties Development Company Anas Hamisu Lawal who stated this during a TV show programme of Thunder Blowers Online TV said the Governor has also procured an estate containing six chalets of three bedrooms plat in Abuja for the company.
Anas Hamisu Lawal further said, the present apartment called “Rikiji House” which was initially a rented apartment housing the company and State SDG has been bought up by the state government and handed over to the investment properties company as additional assets for the state government.
He said, when he took over as the MD of Zamfara Investment and property development company, it neither has a website, nor enough staff especially those with technical experience a circumstance that make its operation inaccessible.
He noted that for ten years the company failed to file its annual returns to the Corporate Affairs Commission, and also failed to change the company address from Samaru area Gusau to JB Yakubu road Canteen area Gusau which make it difficult for interested investors to access the activities of the company and identified areas of interest for investment.
He further said, even the company secretary has not been introduced to the Corporate Affairs Commission as one of the requirements of the incorporation in to the CAC more than seven years after she was redeployed to the company by the state ministry of justice.
He noted further that, part of the reforms embarked upon by the company under him was to develop a functional website, renovate and upgrade the office edifice of the company and also train staff of the company on ICT.
He further said, he has written to the Head of Service for redeployment of more technical staff as well as concluded an arrangement to recruit more staff to enhance the activities of the company.
