Zamfara State government has extended its offer to host 2022 National Annual Maulud celebrations.
Governor Bello Matawalle handed down the request when he hosted the world leader of Tijjaniya sect Khakifah Shiekh Muhammad Mahi Nyass who paid him a courtesy visit at the state government house Gusau.
He said with the crowd of followers at the just concluded 2021 National Maulud in Sokoto which he personally attended, he felt Zamfara state need to host the Maulud, in order to tap from the blessing of the thousands of followers to pray for the return of sustainable peace in Zamfara state and Nigeria by extension.
In a statement by the Director General Press Affairs to Governor Matawalle Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau said, the Governor reminded that prayer is the last option for the Muslim, and it is the last instrument one can use to seek for an end to the lingering security challenges facing the northern Nigeria and country as a whole.
He said his administration would continue to accord priority to the teaching of Islamic values and encourage prayers among people for the return of peace in the state.
He thanked the Spiritual leader of Tijjaniya for the visit to the state and solicited for intensified prayers from him for the return of the peace in the state and the country.
Earlier in his brief sermon, the world leader of the sect, Khalifa Sheikh Muhammadul Mahi Nyass said he was in Zamfara State to visit his followers and encourage them on the needs to continue offering special prayers for their country in Nigeria to overcome the current security situation.
He urged all his followers to be offering special prayers for the return of the peace in Zamfara and the country by extension.
He also commended governor Matawalle’s efforts of giving all the deported Almajiri safe place to live within the state.
During the courtesy visit a special prayer session was conducted for the return of sustainable peace in the state.
