Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has pledged to enforce the federally announced N70,000 minimum wage, stating that the state is well-positioned to lead the process. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving public sector service performance and awaiting the implementation procedure guidelines from the federal government. The governor also emphasized the state’s commitment to enacting the new minimum wage policy.

“We are fully committed to transforming the public service. In order to assign leadership responsibilities in public offices and to require passing competency exams before someone can enter the public service, we have implemented such procedures. These actions are essential to guaranteeing that the people of Katsina are served by a competent and effective workforce, according to Radda.

He reaffirmed the government’s proactive stance on worker welfare and the effectiveness of the public sector. Radda also highlighted the importance of continuous training and development for public servants to ensure high performance standards. Additionally, he mentioned plans to review and update existing policies to further improve efficiency and service delivery in the state.

“The administration’s readiness to enact the new minimum wage and its emphasis on service delivery reforms demonstrate a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving governance and the lives of Katsina State residents,” he continued.
