Former Governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said the decision of Governor Bello Matawalle to defect to All Progressive Congress is a welcome development to the party
Yari who stated this to journalists shortly after a consultation meeting with the Zamfara APC stakeholders in Kaduna said, in any democratic setting political parties needed addition.
“This decision of meeting here in Kaduna is to make consultation with our people and inform them decision of our party leadership in Abuja of accepting Governor Bello Matawalle to be in our party”. Yari added.
“We put our people in place, and we have told them we are into discussion and the discussion will continue on how they are going to get involved in to this process. At the same time, they are the same people that we are going to use for whatever successes we want to attain as a party”.
It could be recall that preparation has been on for the formal reception of Zamfara Governor Bello Matawalle in to the APC on Tuesday after months of rumors and denial by the state officials.
But it is gathered that, APC supporters have raised objection to the procedure followed by the Governor in his plan of defection which they said has demonstrated high sense of disregard to their political integrity as supporters of the APC.
