The newly elected chairpersons and vice chairs of Kwara State’s sixteen local government areas were sworn in on Monday by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who advised them to “be prudent with power and work with the people” for the good of everybody.
The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission’s local government elections on Saturday produced the new chairmen.
Shortly after taking the oath of office at Ilorin’s Government House, the governor thanked the newly appointed council chiefs, together with their families, political leaders, local stakeholders, and all those who contributed in different ways to their rise to power.
The speaker emphasizes the importance of setting realistic goals, being mindful of one’s legacy, being fair, and attending to the needs of the people. He urges local government areas to be creative, explore cooperation, and complement each other for bigger accomplishments. He urges them to prove to the people that they deserve to occupy this esteemed office and wish them all the best in their endeavors. The country is currently in a transitional phase due to economic reforms, causing inconveniences for the people.
Sunday Fagbemi, the party chairman, praised the governor for his statesmanship and dedication to the common good as well as the state’s citizens for their support.
This is a wonderful time. We have only solidified the groundwork established for Kwara’s welfare. The Kwarans have our gratitude for their assistance. The goal is to advance the state and improve Kwara, according to Fagbemi.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Majeed Podo, the chairman of the Ilorin South Local Government Council, promised to put in a lot of effort on behalf of the residents of his local government regions.
