Benedict Akika, a well-known leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, was reportedly abducted on Wednesday night.
According to reports, he was abducted from his home in Olorunda, which is located in the Lagelu Local Government Area of the state.
It was discovered that the heavily armed assailants had broken into his home and threatened to shoot any residents who would resist.
The victim was lounging with his family when the attackers broke into his home, according to a family source who did not want his name to appear in public.
A random gunshot was heard every now and then, intended to frighten the locals and visitors. The abductors then forcefully took the victim away, leaving the family and neighbors in shock and fear. The incident has sparked concerns about the security situation in Oyo State and the need for increased measures to protect residents from such violent crimes.
Later on Wednesday night, he was carried off to an unidentified location. He stated.
