Three policemen were killed and their vehicle burned during a gun battle in Nnewi, Anambra state. Two officers were confirmed dead, but a resident claimed three officers were killed. According to preliminary reports, the armed individuals put an improvised device inside the police operation van and began shooting intermittently as soon as they saw the officers.
Unfortunately, two of the operatives paid the supreme price while the vehicle caught fire.
In light of the foregoing, the command requests that the public, in particular the eyewitnesses and others, assist the ongoing police operations in the area.
