HOW THREE WOMEN DELIVERS WHILE TREKKING TO SAFER CAMPS FOR FEAR OF BANDITS IN ZAMFARA

Three pregnant women delivered while trekking from Bingi and part of Karakkai villages to Tashar Abu a few kilometer distances from Bungudu local government area of Zamfara State.

A source who confided on this medium said, he was part of those who trekked for over a dozen of kilometers to access Tashar Abu as one of the safer places as bandits continue to threatened their safety.

Recalling how the incident happened, the source said, on Wednesday a son of a village head in Karakkai was arrested with five rounds of live ammunition at Bingi Market and was handed over to the soldiers for questioning.

According to him, in the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed that, he was to deliver the live ammunition to bandits at the Bingi forest as part of their plan to invade the community that very night.

He said as the information of the arrest of the suspect reached the bandits they eventually launched the attack as planned.

He told this medium that, the bandits who were numbered over 150 armed with deadly weapons succeeded in killing a police mobile officer, an army and some other civilians.

He further said, while funeral prayer of those killed was ongoing on Thursday, the bandits attempted to reinvade the people a circumstance that make hundreds of the households heavily scared.

He said, they also attempt to invade the neighboring Karakkai village, but the residents of the villages resisted and in the course of the encounter two persons loss their lives.

He said as at 2:00am of Friday women and children in their hundreds are on the trek out of Bingi for their safety
