Zamfara State Police Commissioner Barr. Usman Nagogo has inaugurated Community Policing Advisory Committee in Gummi Emirate Council of Zamfara State aimed at strengthening security of local communities in the state.
The CP led the inauguration on behalf of the IGP, was accompanied at the ceremony by the State Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs Abubakar Muhammad Dauran, Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp and other heads of security agencies.
In a statement by the State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Mohammed reads “the eight (8) man Committee was inaugurated as part of the strategies of the Inspector General of Police effort of strengthening security at grass root level”.
In his address, the state Commissioner of Police, Barr. Usman Nagogo while congratulating the members of the committee for the unique opportunity and urged them to remain resolve in enhancing the security network within their domain and continue to offer advises that will lead to the reduction in crimes.
On his own part, the Emir of Gummi Retired Justice Lawal Hassan, expressed happiness for considering his emirate as the first point of call for this important national assignment and assured the police commissioner that the people of his emirate will support the initiative for maximum result.
