National Association of Quranic Reciters of Nigeria has conferred the title of “Khadimul Islam” to Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
The event came as the association gathered in Gusau the state capital to observe its 2021 annual conference.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the association Sheikh Salihu Turaki who doubled as the Chief Iman of Alhassan Dantata Jumuat Mosque Kano and his counter part from Zamfara Yasir Dalla Dalla Gusau said the award conferred on Governor Bello Matawalle is second in its kind since it was conferred on late Sheikh Rabiu Kano.
They said anyone who is conferred with these types of title must be someone who has put much effort to protect and safeguard the Holy Qur’an noting that the experience of some heartless persons misusing the holy Quran before the coming of the present Governor in Zamfara is known to many in Nigeria.
In his remarks Governor Bello Matawalle expressed appreciation with the conferment of the award and promised to continue to do more in safeguarding and protecting the holy Quran.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the members to continue to pray for the sustainable peace in Zamfara State
