Before starting the demonstration, the participants—mostly chieftains and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike—met at Yenagoa’s Polo Club.

They were observed carrying banners and placards with messages urging Fubara to abide by the Federal High Court’s ruling canceling the poll as they marched down Port Harcourt’s well-known Aba Road.

According to reports, hundreds of APC members were gathering at the party headquarters in Port Harcourt to start a protest along these lines.
