The next Director-General of the State Security Service, often known as the Department of State Services (DSS), is Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointee Yusuf Magaji Bichi is replaced by him.
Mr. Adeola Ajayi, the newly appointed DSS Director-General, ascended through the ranks to assume the position of Assistant Director-General of the Service. He had held positions as State Director in Rivers, Kogi, Bauchi, Enugu, and Bayelsa at different points in time.
The previous NIA and DSS leaders resigned, and the announcement states that the new appointments are a result of that.
According to the statement, President Tinubu expects the new security chiefs to work diligently to realign the two intelligence agencies for improved outcomes. He also gives them the responsibility of applying their experience to address the security challenges facing the nation by collaborating more closely with sister agencies and operating in surgical alignment with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
In addition to wishing the departing directors general of the two crucial intelligence agencies luck in their future pursuits, President Tinubu commended them for their services to the country.
