The Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed his determination to regain his mandate as the duly elected Governor of Kano stats at an appeal to be made at the Apex Court.
It could be recalled that the Court of Appeal on Friday the 17th of November 2023 has affirmed the decision of the lower tribunal which nullified the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after deducting (165, 663) votes on the ground that the ballot papers were not signed and stamped.
It also agreed with the cross appeal made by the APC seeking to disqualify Abba Kabir Yusuf on the ground that he is not a valid member of the NNPP the party that sponsored him.
INEC had earlier declared Governor Abba Kabir the winner of the Kano 18th Governorship poll before he was dragged to the tribunal by the Kano state chapter of the APC.
Abba Kabir in a public address described the decision of the Court of Appeal as a miscarriage of the justice system and vowed to upturn the decisions of both the lower tribunal and Court of Appeal at the Supreme Court.
He called on his supporters to remain calm and be law-abiding as the party, and its legal team are working harder to get their stolen mandate retrieved.
